 Re: Target Vintage
My deactivated 1955 Springfield Garand. Heavy when compared to a No4 Enfield or a L1A1.

 Re: Target Vintage
There is something sexy about the (Springfield Garand) I don't know why but there is, but my favourite is the Lee Enfield.

 Re: Target Vintage
Because of the eight round charger clip. The reload is slower than it should be. This was put right with the later M14 rifle which was magazine fed. What is little known. With the early trials with the Garand. they used three groups of people. Experienced soldiers with the Springfield 1903 rifle, experienced sporting shooters and a group of complete novices/ non shooters. All shot on one day with the bolt action 1903. On the second day they shot with the Garand. With the bolt action rifles all shooters showed fatigue, and marksman ship deteriorated after 150 rounds fired. On the second day firing the Garand rifle. All three groups of shooters showed better marksman ship above 150 rounds fired when compared to the bolt action 1903.
This advantage was put to good use with the human wave attacks by the Japanese during WW2.
