National match Garands and M1A's were upgraded with the addition of an extra rear lug from the 70's onwards as well as the usual list of accuracy improvement and enhancements. Some of these upgrades were passed-over to the M14 and dedicated M21 and M25 sniper rifles. Lester mentioned "M1a H Bar" ideal for the target shooting. That would be the Supermatch Lester, throw in a Krieger H bar as well while your at it, nice but expensive. €3000-€4000 and provided your Chief Superintendent is willing to license one of these firearms in the first place. :)

Dear Blackadder, thank you for the post. I did not know these guns cost so much.
My own D/A Springfield Garand was only £400.
I correspond with a Sgt Maj in the Danish Army, Finn Rotboell. Who told me live Garands are about £400 in Denmark as well. Vintage rifle shooting is also popular in the Danish Army. Finn shoots a SMLE, K98, P14 and M1 carbine. I will see if they have their own web site and invite him to look at this one.
Never seen a D/A M14 on sale in the UK and we only get the occasional M16/AR15.
Plenty of Enfields though!

Your right on that one, I know what you look like!

It's good to see people with an excellent knowledge of firearms verifying or disputing the information this is what it's all about.
We can educate, complement and increase the awareness of this site / the VCRAI and what it was set up for.

just a bit like medical use marijuana goes back centuries for children with autism and epilepsy now parental reports suggest that children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) benefit from participating in target shooting sport in Danish Shooting Associations. The influence of participation in target-shooting sport for children with inattentive, hyperactive and impulsive symptoms ? A controlled study of best practice https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... t_practice

just goes to show ya can't find a better sport for all ages
