Post Spotting scope for 22 at 100m
Hi guys, long time and all that....
I've always been happy enough to shoot an open sight group with my BSA martini at 100m and try and squint to pick out hits using my 30euro Lidl scope and then take a walk to get a better view at the end of the detail. That or a shoot'n'see
My daughter is now getting into shooting so I don't want her discouraged by substandard kit. Any suggestions for a scope that will do the job on miminum dollars? Someone at the club recommended the Bushnell Spacemaster which is about 200 euro afaik.

Looking for clear optics capable of resolving .22 holes at 100 yards without resorting to inferior equipment...
A novel solutions is to make a spotting scope out of a good 'high magnification' rifle scope mounted on a tripod followed by attaching the scope to a smartphone scope adapter for viewing the target.
Your daughter then has a rifle that is also suitable for benchrest practice with the same telescopic sight.

Cheers Blackadder, very useful.
The idea of a smartphone is interesting. I'm going to give something a go this weekend and if it works I'll post about it here.

It works - there was one being used last Saturday on our range, but instead of a smartphone it went onto a 10" tablet - bona job!

Yep, it is not bad. I can see a tablet would be better.
The name of the app I used is Alfred for anyone that's interested. Two smartphones, one acts as remote camera, the other displays what it sees. Requires data and a google account.
